Today, we're excited to confirm that Wakatta will be undergoing its major first integration as part of Sensorium Galaxy's migration to our blockchain. This is a move that has been in the works for quite some time, but now that we've officially launched we can finally start preparing it.
At the moment, the Sensorium Galaxy metaverse relies on Ethereum to power its in-platform currency, SENSO. This token will be used to mint NFTs, support transactions and exchanges, unlock experiences, tickets and events, among other functionalities. SENSO will help make Sensorium Galaxy’s virtual economy a thriving and fair space, where users can expect transparency and reliability at all times. However, with Ethereum facing issues like high fees and congestion, Sensorium opted to build a solution that would better fit the needs of an entertainment-based platform like the Sensorium Galaxy metaverse.
This is where Wakatta walks in. Our blockchain was designed with Substrate - a next-generation blockchain framework. Why is it better? Because this way we can solve some of the challenging issues we faced before. With Wakatta, we can guarantee faster transactions (30 times faster than Ethereum, to be more precise), make fees cheaper at under $0.001, and support a greater amount of operations within our metaverse marketplace. On top of that, Wakatta will also connect SENSO to the Polkadot ecosystem, delivering competitive conditions for SENSO token holders. This includes not only cheaper and faster transactions, but also opportunities for interoperability with other Substrate networks.
As a creator-friendly space, Sensorium Galaxy encourages users to NFT their original content, be that new AI-driven virtual beings, dance choreographies or art pieces, you can share it, sell it or exchange it and monetize your experience in the metaverse - and beyond. By supporting these features, Wakatta is the perfect solution to empower digital creativity, help users create blockchain-protected content and bring their experience to the next level.
On top of all that, we'll be seeing a new type of NFTs we pioneered come to life. Have you ever heard of upgradable NFTs? Or time-limited NFTs? Probably not. Wakatta has developed a new range of NFTs that are upgradable and time-limited. Simply put, these new NFTs can enhance an entertainment experience like a metaverse and better fit its game mechanics. Upgradable NFTs allow artworks to be built on top of originals without triggering copyright or ownership dispute while time-limited NFTs could be a great tool for issuing event tickets, for example.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Wakatta offers an unlimited range of opportunities in creativity and self-expression for entertainment and we're excited to see how all of this will take shape.
